Quick summary

All coBlocks gallery blocks (Stacked, Masonry, Offset, Carousel) are facing an issue where the images and caption controls are not clickable, that's limiting users from making customizations like reordering images, adding links to them and editing captions.

Stacked block report: 98137
Masonry block report: 97952

Steps to reproduce

  1. On a simple site that is older than 2021* or on an Atomic site with the CoBlocks plugin enabled
  2. Create a page or post
  3. Add a one of the following blocks: (Stacked, Masonry, Offset, Carousel)
  4. Enable "Captions" in its settings - right bar.

What you expected to happen

To be able to click an image and see a tooltip where we can add links and change the order of images by clicking the arrows.

What actually happened

The images and captions are not clickable.

Available workarounds?

Yes, easy to implement

If the above answer is "Yes...", outline the workaround.

Transform the Blocks to a Gallery block. It may cause
In the case some blocks to not look the same, like Masonry.
If the user just wants to just change the order of images, they can use the Classic (wp-admin) UI, or:

  • Convert the coBlock block to a Gallery block
  • Reorder the images
  • Convert that to the coBlocks block in question.

@mxhassani this seems like it might be a duplicate:

@supernovia This is about all the coBlocks - Stacked, Masonry, Offset, Carousel. #97952 appears to be only about the Masonry block only. I created this as a place to report issues with the other blocks.
There is also a report about Stacked block in #98137.

I linked both in the report.
As a PA, please feel free to merge where adequate.
