Feature request: Change rest frame #138
Comments
It is implemented in v3b2. Please check the settings dialog of the image list widget. In addition, in the upcoming v3b3 release, it is also possible to set a new rest frequency when saving a subimage. |
When a new rest frequency is set to a given image cube, all matched cubes are re-matched. Then you can request region analytics on the matched channels, as well as comparing matched channel images. As the image list widget is the key tool we design for image spatial and spectral matching, we think it is logical to put the rest frequency options there. |
Could you at least add a tooltip or similar in the "Conversion" menu? While I understand your logic, I always think of the spectrum as the object that has a rest frequency and a velocity, so I expected the Z-axis (spectrum) viewer to have the controls for rest frequency. It doesn't really make sense to enable a velocity view if you cannot control what the velocity is defined with respect to. |
It would be helpful to be able to change the reference (rest) frequency when showing velocities. If such a feature exists, I haven't found it.
