plot_map most projections don't work

Expected behavior

When creating a map plot, choosing different projections should result in data being plotted in those projections.

Actual behavior

For most projections an empty plot is returned

Steps to reproduce the problem

1. Read in some data
2. use ops.plot_map() with a non-default projection
