Currently the keyboard for entering notes is layed out to support two octaves, with octave switching with F3/F4
Vincenzo's suggestion is a layout using the ASD.. row for white keys, the row above for black keys and the number keys 0-7 for octave selection.
As people are already used to the current layout, this could be a config option

I'd love to have this feature! Not only just changing the octaves, but also changing the octave of an existing note, without having to re-enter it.
