HikeAndBike

A simple website that allows users to log in and add hiking and biking trails around Salt Lake City.

Website Description

Salt Lake Hike and Bike is a user-driven website designed to provide a platform for outdoor enthusiasts to share and explore hiking and biking trails in the Salt Lake area. The website allows users to contribute by adding new trails and posting updates, which are essentially reviews of their experiences on the trails and psot photos of the trail they were just on.

Key Features:

  • Trail Contributions: Users can add new hiking and biking trails to the website, providing valuable information about trail difficulty, mileage, and a brief description to help others discover new routes.
  • Trail Updates: Once on a trail, users can post updates about their experience, including the date they hiked or biked the trail and any noteworthy observations. This feature allows for real-time information sharing.
  • Parking Status: One of the aspects of Salt Lake Trails Community is its ability to provide real-time parking lot status updates. Users can report the parking status at the trailhead, indicating whether it's full, almost full, half full, or empty, along with the date and time. This information helps others plan their visits accordingly. -Add Photos: When a user is on a specific trail they can add a photo of the trail they were just on with a caption. This away someone visiting the site can really visualize the trails they would like to check out!

Next Steps

  • Enable users to post the gps coordinates of where the trail starts and ends. -Create a search bar so users can look for specific trails already posted on the website.
  • Add CSS and other website like features, like a footer, to make a users experience more visually pleasing and easier to navigate.
