The effect of VAE

Dear devs,

Thanks for your great work. It seems that only the decoder of VAE is used for generation, while the encoder is not activated. Meanwhile I observed there are codes incorporating the features of VAE encoder into Gaussian features, but they are dropped. So, I'm wondering if the features from VAE encoder is not beneficial to the final performance?
