Chaining OnDemand manifest has no video

Environment

• The MPD passes the DASH-IF Conformance Tool on https://conformance.dashif.org/
• The stream has correct Access-Control-Allow-Origin headers (CORS)
• There are no network errors such as 404s in the browser console when trying to play the stream
• The issue observed is not mentioned on https://github.com/Dash-Industry-Forum/dash.js/wiki/FAQ
• The issue occurs in the latest reference client on http://reference.dashif.org/dash.js/ and not just on my page

Steps to reproduce

1. Load manifest, press "Load"

Observed behavior

No video and in network tab there's no requests for video content

Expected behavior

Video is playing

The main content of the manifest plays fine. However, dash.js does not support MPD chaining. There is an issue for this (#1770) but there is no plan to implement it. Instead we will focus on Server Guided Ad Insertion and support for Media Presentation Insertion.

Closing this issue as it's a duplicate of #1770.

Yeah, MPD chaining was never really adopted, I am not aware of anyone using it. Of course, if you want to contribute this feature to dash.js we are happy to review your PR.
