Error cannot read property chromium revision #19
Comments
Dear @FlyingHawkic, can you please describe how precisely you have installed the website evidence collector? Please note that Ubuntu does not support the installation with privileged (root) accounts. See also: #20 (comment) |
Thank you for your reply. I tried to install the WEC on a Windows machine, but that didn't work out. As the website of the EDPS mentions that it should work on Linux, I used Hyper V to launch Ubuntu and followed all the steps as described in the read me files. |
Did you attempt the solution discussed in #20 ? My colleague managed to install WEC on Windows without virtualisation. Can you remmeber the error message you were facing on Windows? |
I didn't see the relevance of that solution as the error is different and I am the owner of the laptop so I should have all the needed privileges to install any software. I just didn't understand how to install it on a Windows machine as there was no .exe file and I couldn't find the information on how to install it. Do you have a readme file for installation on Windows, because I might try it then. |
This is a limitation of the dependency puppeteer on Ubuntu and potentially other Linux distributions.
Try these tutorials (untested) to install node and npm on windows:
Afterwards, proceed to the installation of the website evidence collector with |
Many thanks. I'll try the installation on Windows. |
I tried to run the website evidence collector using Ubuntu 19.04, but I get the following error: Cannot read property 'chromium_revision' ...
Anyone?
