Doesn't work on items which weren't edited trough VS Code

On VSC 1.89.1, it shows error when trying to "Stage changes" on files/folders which differ from the Git's index but weren't edited trough VSC. Renaming and moving them though VSC doesn't fix that, editing does.

i also just noticed that it happens not in all repos. maybe related to multiple Worktrees, but idk
