Sieges & Flags

Sieges

Conflict in WarForge is mostly handled through sieges. To start a siege against another faction's claim, you will need to craft a Siege Camp Block. Place the siege camp block in a chunk adjacent to the claim you want to siege, right click your Siege Camp block and select the direction to siege in.

Note that all the following are the default values in WarForge and may be different on the server you are playing on

Once the siege starts, a bar will show up at the top of the screen for all players nearby. This will show how many points are needed for a successful attack or defence. The strength of the defending claim and the number of player flags present contribute to the siege difficulty, i.e. the points needed for a successful attack. The points needed for a successful defence is always 5.

  • A Citadel Block has 15 defence
  • A Reinforced Claim Block has 10 defence
  • A Basic Claim Block has 5 defence
  • Each player flag placed in the defending claim adds 3 defence

Things that push the siege progress in the attacker's favour are:

  • PVP Kills - only kills by attackers with their flag on the siege camp on defenders with their flag on the defending claim. 1 point per kill.
  • Logins - Each 24h period, the siege advances 1 point if at least one member of the attacking faction has logged into the server.
  • Basic Pressure - Each 24h period, the siege advances 1 point.
  • Flag Pressure - Each 24h period, the siege advances 1 point for each flag in the siege camp.

Things that push the siege progress in the defender's favour are:

  • PVP Kills - only kills by defenders with their flag on the defending claim on attackers with their flag on the siege camp. 1 point per kill.
  • Logins - Each 24h period, the siege recedes 1 point if at least one member of the defending faction has logged into the server.
  • Flag Pressure - Each 24h period, the siege recedes 1 point for each flag in the defending claim.

Flags

Every player in a faction has a flag they can place on a claim. This represents where their efforts are focused when it comes to reinforcing the faction's actions. A good way to think of it is that players can fight actively by PVPing and fight passively / offline with their flag placement. You can move your flag once per day and can do so by right clicking on the claim you wish to move to.

In order to create siege camps, the player doing so must not be on flag cooldown. Placing a siege camp moves your flag there. Siege camps require at least one player flag to remain active to prevent siege camp spamming. Be careful before moving your flag if you are involved in sieges.

Discord Integration

This is still work in progress, but siege events should be announced to Discord
