It happens only to Facebook and Twitter icons from what I know. The problem is AdBlock (Plus) apparently deals with Font Awesome icons as social media widgets or parts and removes icons. Changing name (eg. from Facebook to fb) does the job.

but http://fortawesome.github.io/Font-Awesome/examples/ is also affected.

I'm still very against this one, it's 100% adblock's fault that prevents legal uses of icons (malicious websites will change their classes for sure).
