[Suggestion, Enhancement] Planar Vortices should have an ambient noise #53
Comments
An interesting proposal for sure, if you can find me a free use audio file for the ambient sound, I'd be willing to add it |
Here, this should work. Sound file is changed, added reverb and changed pitch and length of wave. (no longer distinguishable from original) |
I can add fading if you decide to use it |
I no longer work with GTNH, though I might pursue this on my personal branch of Horizons in the future. Sorry for the inconvenience. Maybe someone else there will add it here. |
you can make a pr on GTN fork, but i guess it must be an ogg file or somethin else mch smaler than a wave file |
Alas! Sounds good though, I plan on cloning my own. There's some code I'd like to change with the soul beacon that irks me.
I can convert to ogg and make a pull on GTN. Question: Has nothing on GTN's version of Thaumic Horizons been changed thus far? I see commits to add research nodes in the thauminomicon, but I cant see them registering in-game. |
I've done some bug fixes, had/have some planned content and a list of requests from the original dev in DMs, but no, I was waiting for some comments from the original dev in DMs regarding some of the stuff I was working on at the time and was never gotten back to unfortunately. |
Currently, they are silent.
I was recently looking around on youtube for ambient white noise and found something ideal as ambiance for the planar vortex: The Bb resonances of a black hole, recorded by NASA and translated into audio. I think these would be perfect as an ambient noise for the Vortex - not too loud, but clearly audible when within maybe 10-15 blocks of one.
I've faked a demonstration of what kind of atmosphere this would create:

And here's the sample I used:
