I'm coming from Makie issue #796: For its filled contours, Makie currently uses (a wrapper of) R's isoband package, which does not allow for curvilinear grids (matrix x and y inputs)... But Contour.jl does, and contours for curvilinear grids were recently added to Makie in PR#4670! So maybe a isoband-enabled Contour.jl would make filled contours work too (and remove a Makie dependency)? Pinging @asinghvi17 to correct me if I said something wrong or if he thinks this is not the way to go!

How complicated would it be to add isobands?
