Does the better thermostat work with Danfoss Ally / Popp termostats?
If yes, which settings should I use for the configuration?
I tried for several hours, but I did not get it to work. I can get it to pair alright, but the temperatur-reading is not replaced with the external sensor and the regulation is weird

I use the Danfoss Ally thermostats and yes they are working. But since they dont support an off function better thermostat sets them to 5C. It works fine. Alle mine are addes via zigbee2mqtt without using the danfoss hub. I use windows sensors but i had a problem where the thermostat never rise the temp from the 5C to whatever it has been set to before the windows was opened. So I took the windows senors out of the configuration on each Better Thermostat configuration. And then made my own automations. It works perfect. But recently I added mon more thermostat and here it seems that the window sensor and better thermostat works fine together. It could be fixed..I guess. When I configure better thermostat to my danfoss alley it seems to work the same no matter what boxes I chenk. Be aware that the thermostats need time to adapt to your radiators. It can take some days. Mine is very precise and spot on the set temperature.

I forgot to say one thing that I don't like about using Danfoss ally in better thermostat. It seems that better thermostat sets the temp higher on the danfoss ally then you want to reach the temperature. So you can not set the temp. on the danfoss ally directly. At least I don't know how to fix that. But I have learned to live with it.

I have five Popp trvs. I had disappointing results managing them with zha, better results with z2m. The Popp things do need frequent attention, unfortunately. Only yesterday the trv in the storage room kept sending status and measurement values, but would not accept control commands resulting hot storage and luke warm beer. I'm still looking into this issue, I assume it is not related to better thermostat, but either to Popp or z2m.

Today I integrated the better thermostat intergration in my HA installation and finally, after some "issues" related to my specific requirements, using a mixture of Danfoss, Popp TRVs, which are basically identic, I found a working solution.
The setup is quite straight forward. Important is, to let the second page unchecked! At the end of the process. the dialog states, setting the TRV to 5°C in case of shutdown. This is normal for the Popp/Danfoss. Don`t tick this feature in the previous setup page!! After the initial setup, the original Popp-climate entity jumps to 5°C. Don't try to set the wanted temperature via this tile!Look for the BT-climate, or even better, install the better-thermostat-ui-card via HACS and set the desired temperature via this tool. You will see on your original Popp-climate, that the temperture will increase or decrease in a manner, consistent to the heating demand, which is not the actual temperature selected via the BT-tile! In the beginning, this looks strange, as the temperature demand could rise to about 35°C, but which simply reflects the heating demand and the full open valve position.
In the beginning, I was confused and did some testing. Overall, I could figure out a way, to deal with my TRVs. By the way, the window open feature works like a charm.
As I am pretty new to BT, I will report if I encounter any further strange behaviour in the future. During the next days I will check, if the system works as desired. Additionally, I use some blueprints for load-balancing and I am not sure, if the interactions will work flawlessly...
In short.
