Hello,
I am not able to load VST instruments at all. I have Jack set as the audio source, and I selected a folder for the VST instruments, but I still get the following when running LMMS from a terminal:

VST_PATH not set, defaulting to /home/bodhi32/vst:/usr/local/lib/vst:/usr/lib/vst

ALSA lib pulse.c:243:(pulse_connect) PulseAudio: Unable to connect: Connection refused

Any help much appreciated!

I assume these VSTs work with PulseAudio disabled and everything routed through ALSA?

@diizy @softrabbit when you mention "JACK MIDI support" in #1467 is that in reference to all MIDI-based instruments?

@tresf, I mean creating real native MIDI ports in JACK. Which would enable a lot of Linux audio software to connect without jumping through extra hoops called a2jmidid or whatever. Some explanation:

@tresf,
I think so. That is, I have PulseAudio disabled (or disinstalled, I'll have to check which..). So with other apps, anything going to Alsa is then routed to Jack using a2jmidid.
I selected Jack as the audio source in LMMS and restarted it (LMMS) and so the settings are as I want them, but for some reason I get the errors in the OP.
