I think I experienced the same problem. Are you opening a project that was created in RC6?
If so, then I can confirm that this is a problem.

Plugin : TAL Reverb and pongDelay

OK unknown to me.
Could be that this specific plugin has a problem..

I have tried different types of VST's

Do try with :

  • LADSPA: butterworth filter
  • LMMS wave-shaper

Does they work?
VST-effects-plugins are a sore spot in lmms. I use to say ~10% works, the rest does not. It is the exact opposite with VSTinstruments 90% works

The built-in plugins can be found when starting up the project but not the VST's. I have an Equalizer on the project and it can be found.

Can you provide a copy of your project file?

I cant, there are samples that did not come with LMMS and providing a copy of the project could render it useless.

I don't need the samples, I'm not trying to play the project and have it sound how it originally does. I'm just interested in how the VST paths have been saved within it.
If you'd prefer not to make it public, you can PM me on Discord or get my email from my GitHub profile.

That's where they actually are on your hard disk. I'd like to see where the project file thinks they are.

The error message suggests LMMS is looking for the plugin in a folder called "plugins" within your plugin folder, i.e. "<plugin folder>\plugins\effectname.dll". Is that where they are, or are they just in "<plugin folder>\effectname.dll"?

My directory for my VST's are E:\LMMSrc7\plugins\

What is your VST plugin directory set to in Edit > Settings > Directories?

Try changing your VST plugin directory to "E:\LMMSrc7". Currently LMMS is looking for your plugins in "E:\LMMSrc7\plugins\plugins", which is why it can't find them.

I did that but it still gives me the error.

You've set the VST plugin directory to "E:\LMMSrc7\", and the files "E:\LMMSrc7\plugins\D-Stortion.dll" and "E:\LMMSrc7\plugins\pongDelay.dll" both exist, right?
Do you have the 32-bit or 64-bit version of LMMS? When you got the VST plugins, did they come with any other files or folders, or just the single DLL?

I have tried what you said and still, the same error, the only way to get rid of it is to re-add the plugin.
I have a 64Bit version of LMMS.

Nice to know it works when you re-add the plugin, that means that LMMS is having issues finding the plugin, rather than not supporting it.
When you were using RC6, where did you keep your VST plugins, and what was your VST plugin directory option set to?

The directory was set to E:\LMMSrc6\plugins and i left it like that, LMMS could then find my plugins instantly

Arr.. @MisterTeeXD I think you 'sleep' your pc instead of shutting it all down?
Correct?
Shut is d o w n wait 2 mins and cold-restart
Re check the saved info in Settings! You may have to get rid of current Config-dot-file
