When trying to signup, process resets if click out of the menu

Issue description

If I am in the signup process and click outside of the signup menu, the process restarts.

Reproduce Issue

1. Switch MetaMask to an account that does NOT have any registrations.
2. Press "Connect Wallet"
3. Wait a bit for the feed to start loading in.
4. Type in a handle, but do NOT press "Create Handle"
5. Click anywhere outside of the "Successfully connected to your wallet" menu
6. See that the feed disappears and we go back to add readme with library choice selections #1
7. The same thing happens if I click "Create Handle", but click out while it is loading.

Expected result

• I expect that the menu should only close out if I press the cancel button

Actual result

• Menu closes and the process restarts
