I have no idea if this is possible, but since CSUME can communicate with the MAMEHub lobby now, would it be possible to have it track/store and display player high scores for each game. Or maybe just the overall top score.
Can CSUME read the scores from memory?
Perhaps to limit data storage a player would have to actively choose to /submit (type in chat) the score.
Scores will only be tracked by the newest ROM dumps. This will also encourage players to use the same version and upgrade and limit storage space even further.
This would add a competitive element to MAMEHub other than fighting games, which may attract a larger crowd.
Cheating may become an issue once this feature becomes popular. Automatically including a screenshot for top scores when the player hits /submit might be an option.
