possibility to handle text sensors ?

I was looking to implement displays in my setup, here it would be cool to have test-sensors defined to submit data to the display.

the component itself is recognized by the module:

text_sensor:
  - platform: template
    name: "Template Text Sensor"

Bu i see no possibility to send data to the ESP, the basic switchCommandService does not seem to work
