Adding a "inactive" case to check_init_service

I have varying Systems, that have systemd Units not always Running but periodically start. Those normally have a "inactive" state as opposed to "failed" with an exit code of "3".
Is it possible to add an option to report those as not critical? I want the failed state of those to still report Critical, just not the "inactive" state, as that's normal for those.
