Netatalk 3.1 End of Life

This is an announcement about EOL for a long-running Netatalk release series.

We are planning to stop providing security patches for Netatalk 3.1 on May 31, 2025.
This date marks 12 months since the release of 3.2.0, the superseding feature release.

Please see the Security Policy for more details.

Everyone using an older version is recommended to migrate to the Netatalk 4.1 release series as soon as possible.
If the change of build system is too large an effort in the short term, the 3.2 release series is a stopgap measure.
Netatalk 3.2 will be supported until September 28, 2025.

Quick trivia: the first alpha version of Netatalk 3.1 was released in July of 2013.
The project has maintained this minor release version for almost 12 years!
