I just downloaded 1.5.3 (the latest version available for a Mac), opened the DMG, clicked "Install", and got this dialog box:

It looks like it's not packaged properly (the application name is empty).

I think this problem, or a variant thereof, is a known issue. See these posts (1, 2) on the Neverball discussion forum. I believe it will be addressed once the maintainer of the Mac OS X port (@jammnrose) updates the package for 1.6.0.

Thanks for reporting, this helps ensure the issue stays on the radar.
