Nheko not showing desktop notifications

Hi,
I'm on kubuntu24.10, using plasma6 on Wayland and I am not getting desktop notifications from nheko.
I have also Schildichat installed on the same machine and I can properly receive Matrix notifications on the machine.

I feel this issue started when I installed nheko on another machine, since then I removed nheko from the other machine and after logging out of matrix and removing the session.

I'd be happy to contribute to a fix, but I am not really sure I know where to look at in the source code, and how to debug it, I'm not sure how to check and see if nheko is really trying to post desktop notifications or not.

Let me know what additional info you require.

Hmm... I managed I think to unblock this.

1. I turned off notifications in nheko and quit nheko
2. In element, I turned off Matrix notifications for the account, and enabled them again
3. Started nheko, and enabled desktop notifications
4. I requested again cross signing secrets while Schildichat is open
5. I exited nheko, and restarted it from command line (so I see stido dump on terminal)
6. I started getting notifications..
