Jtojnar has written a aw derivation before, you can find it here: https://github.com/jtojnar/nixfiles/blob/master/pkgs/activitywatch/default.nix.
This should only serve as a reference point for others, since it wouldn't be allowed in nixpkgs and I don't want to put any pressure on jtojnar to submit a aw package.

It uses generators (like naersk and npmlock2nix), which aren't allowed in nixpkgs.

Furthermore, I tried to get it to run, but the web ui always had an error. I didn't try to debug it tho
