Alternative way to disable (figure caption etc) numbering

Can something like this be implemented:

figure-caption-main-number:
  inherit: "figure-caption-base-number"
  style:
    ...
    numbering:
      visible: true|false
     ...

We implemented something different eventually.

I am not fond of having too many different ways for doing a thing, so let's consider we don't need this for now and close this issue.
If there's a real need to address it differently a some point, we can always open a new issue with extra context. It's also possible that a a future evolution of the style syntax might approach things differently (now that I use it in all my books, I see some places where things could be made more flexible).
