Note that using a LICENSES/ directory is REUSE v3.0 compatible and so far a progress. It would make sense to move all of Openslides to be REUSE compatible as this is becoming increasing the state of the art for Free Software products.
Neither GitHub nor Go Pkg are able to detect that licensing system. So I would prefer that we add then LICENSE file to the root dir nevertheless. Whether the repos should follow the REUSE specs or not can be discussed separately.
I'd rather not take a step back because Go pkg and github will at some time grow the necessary detection. (Their display is often unreliable these days anyway because most repos contain files with different licenses.)
Maybe a soft link from LICENSE -> LICENSES/MIT.txt can be a stopgap.
BTW: The rights marking is probably wrong, a file written by an employee of Intevation has "Intevation GmbH" as rights holder.
Please add a LICENSE file with exactly this content to the root dir and remove the LICENSES folder. This way we do it in all repos. Thanks
