Hi Guys,

We are using the Drotek RTK XL GPS for mapping.

I see it is shown that it works at 8Hz, but is it true or is it working at 5Hz like the regular GPS.

I still cannot understand something about precision.

At 8Hz and as we fly with 14 m/s we have a reading from the RTK at every 1.75m

So even if this PR

#10295 (comment)

is working fine we still have a 1.75m accuracy.

So how do we go down on accuracy without GCPs is the question.

If we read the GPS with 10Hz it is 1.4m

If it is 20Hz it is 0.7m

Is this correct or not?

The update rate of the GPS is not so critical (unless the vehicle performs fast direction changes), because the estimator will use the IMU data to estimate positions between 2 GPS samples.

I like this reply :) Does anybody performed a comparison on the RTK.PPK vs GCPs for the PX4?
