I doubt this is a Cogito specific interaction, and its so niche I'm not sure it would be worth fixing anyway. It was fun though! I almost got onto the roof!

AFAIK this is due to the collisions.
Since we got a Bean, it is concarve on both ends.
I take a wild guess and say the bottles have a cylinder collision.
So, when you walk up the bottle, you collide with the bottle and the floor, so you gain a little height and keep moving foward as you build up velocity and since it is not clamped you can become a rocket ;)
This may be fixable with get_slide_collision and when colliding with some body called e.g. "bottle" and is_on_floor then applying a downwards velocity.
Or clamping the max velocity, but not sure about the bunnyhop, as it needs to build up a high velocity to feel "right".

BTW: At some point, a few weeks ago, I got lucky and could do the "Skyrim jump on a bucket to fly around"-glitch with the moveable box in the demo, but my skill is not great enough to do it again, lol.

Interesting, I would have thought the player would be a capsule.
How are they getting up on the bottle instead of 'kicking' it then? Is it a stair climbing feature or something?

Just kidding, but I am sure I saw a capsule, too. Mixing collision shapes is pretty common, is the box active when walking ? That should prevent that behavior...

So, it is a Box usualy and a ball when crouching, so I guess that's the stair handling, as the box goes up the bottle/stair, same with the small boxes in the archive, that could also catapult you.
You could try to put the bottle on an other collisionlayer so it collides with the (world)enviroment but not the player.

I like the idea of the player being able to sort of kick them, but this might be the best solution for sure.

With small objects, tinkering with the collision size and shape could work, but it's annoying and time-consuming imho. You could simply have the body experience a force in the opposite direction when it collides with the player and then play a kick sound.

Haha, yeah, these kinda behaviours happen all the time (even in triple-A games).

While I haven't tried it myself, a YouTube commenter told me that switching to Jolt Physics was easy and caused no problems with Cogito, though I don't know what version they were using. While I wouldn't include that in the repo, I'm definitely want to try Jolt myself someday to see.

Ah cool, that might be an option for me if I want to try to fix this. Though I'm sure any physics implementation would have some weird behavior

I already use Jolt because I need an area3d to detect a static body by name, godot physics ignore my wishes(bug or undocumented feature), but jolt has a checkbox for this.
But Jolt will not fix that by default, I got already to much velocity from cramped up npcs and a car that did a hit and run on me :(
