Represent Goal 6

Relies heavily on access system and ENVO classes. PCO classes for human communities and the like will also be needed (@rlwalls2008) as well as classes from new policy-related domain ontologies.

Jacquie provided this document on indicator metadata from UN Water.

In particular indicators 6.2.1, 6.3.1, 6.3.2, 6.6.1, 6.b.1 are currently priorities with respect to basic services, safely managed services, and ambient water quality not presenting risk.

A related theme is that of water-borne disease in #33.

Hi Pier,

For Goal 6, Target 6.5 about IWRM, I found researchers Rahaman, Varis & Kajander's article "EU Water Framework Directive vs. Integrated Water Resources Management: The Seven Mismatches," quite helpful in exploring what IWRM is (http://www.internationalwaterlaw.org/bibliography/articles/general/Rahaman-EUWFD.pdf).

Rahaman pulls out and details some principles of IWRM, such as:

  1. Gender awareness
  2. Integration between different sectors
  3. Decentralization
  4. Participation of stakeholders
  5. Focus on poverty
  6. Human oriented management
  7. Develop responsibilities at lowest appropriate level
