This should only be started once Polyphone 3 is released, because Polyphone 3 is likely to be the reference implementation of SFe.
From existing communication, it seems unlikely that FluidSynth will adopt any version of SFe that isn't broadly backwards compatible with legacy SF2.04. In other words, this means that if FluidSynth is to support SFe in the future, it would only support SFe 4.
