Feedback starts at around here on Discord.

  • There should be a simple way for users to add features to the map - for ZK users shouldn't have to take any additional steps to add/import features - it should all be there and ready to use - like other popular classic editors (e.g. WC3)
  • Metal spots are meant to be present on the map but they don't show up
  • Low memory occurs with normal use
  • As per the above, the metal map editor could just be a thing that lets you place metal spots and set their values.
  • Autotexturing feature would be nice to have. This is my random map texturer. It is a shader and runs pretty quickly. Maybe not quickly enough to regenerate it all realtime, but quick enough for a hotkey. https://github.com/GoogleFrog/Random-Map/blob/master/shaders/map_diffuse_generator.glsl
  • ZK would want a start box editor
  • A ramp feature would be nice to have
  • There isn't anything telling me whether the terrain will be pathable, or whether factories will be able to be placed on it
  • The same as above, but for shallow water movement and ships
  • About 80% of the menus are confusing or useless, either due to not having any content installed in them, or being incomplete features? The whole Objects tab just seems to be for placing geospots, but geospots aren't conceptually a real "object" like a tree is anyway.
  • spring-launcher automatically unchecks for updates after it has self-updated
  • Some way to set a mirror mode would be good, especially for startbox creation and mex placement. Rotational or across a line.
  • Save/Export/etc buttons are not in an obvious space hierarchically: I spent a while trying to find how to save my map and export it. These buttons do that, but look subservient to the menu above, which made me overlook them. Shouldn't they be at a higher level, at "system" or "project" or something?
  • New project dialog should pop-up in the beginning as users would struggle later to change the map size. idk how to set map size, I see I need a new project for that. It would suck if I made a map then realised it was the wrong size. Perhaps the new project thing should come up at the start on a blank project, rather than just giving me a canvas?
  • Map name settings are not in an intuitive space (under Map). I set my map name 30 minutes ago but even now I forget how I did it. I expected map name etc to be in here
  • Map terrain tools get automatically unselected when you switch tabs. When I click terrain, a tool, and a size, I then go click on the map, and nothing happens. I just did this now, and kept doing it while I made the map. Perhaps one of the Add/Set/Smooth buttons should always be in the selected state, because idk why I would be on this menu if I didn't want them selected. Something I am doing keeps accidentally unselecting them
  • It's unclear if there's an eye-dropper for (map) set mode Is there an eye dropper for set mode? That would be useful (Maybe make it more obvious that's how it works)
  • Brushes could be sorted a bit better. Perhaps a good selection of circles at the front, and then some errosion below? I worry that the options on display are going to naturally lead people to make some unplayably bumpy terrain
  • ROAM has some function now you can use to kick it to update. Or you can increment then decrement terrain detail every time the terrain is changed.
