Expected behavior?

Correct export and importing from TT to Blender and back into TT so that new sculpt may be used in-game.

Actual behavior?

Exporting the FBX file from Textools into Blender causes eyeballs to have an error (with or without edits to sculpt). Causes visual error from eyeballs (strange bones?). Messes up lower face, no mouth movement/animations, no eyeballs (floats outside of head).

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Export/Save FBX of PC or NPC face sculpt from Textools (I used Y'shtola's Face 204)
  2. Import FBX into Blender (no changes, don't touch it at all)
  3. Save as a FBX from Blender
  4. Load into TexTools
  5. Error.

Error messages?

Warning: Mesh: c0801f0204_fac Part 3.0 - Does not have a valid skin element. This will cause animation issues if this is intended to be an animated mesh.

(Happens for all NPC/PC sculpt models with eyeballs. Y'shtola Group 3, Thancred Group 1, etc. etc.)

What aspect of FFXIV TexTools were you using, and what Item were you interacting with?

FBX of Female Miqo'te Face 204 (Y'shtola Shadowbringers+ Model) , but happens with all FBX files of updated models 7.0+.

Has this has been confirmed as an actual bug?

  • This has been confirmed to be a legitimate issue and not caused by bad game data.

I was having this same issue, but regenerating the skeletons like @Squall-Leonhart suggested resolved it for me.
