[Bug]: Textools delets n_root upon importing, it looses amateur modifier data upon importing, it yeets my textures upon importing my model in live penumbra project #322

Expected behavior?

TT should not yeet n_root information upon importing as well as not deleting/ignoring/yeeting/idk amatuer modifier information upon importing

Actual behavior?

I have several issues with TT.

  1. See video. I work on hair and it installs just fine, no errors, however I am bald ingame. The video shows that TT is yeeting the n_root for no reason which causes the baldness. I reinstalled TT at least 6 times. Error persists. I've seeked help in the discord, no respond.
  2. Another issue with gear meshes. I am mostly working in penumbra live projects as it's the most convenient. When I make changes to my mesh and save the file in my directory it imports it automatically in TT, however TT yeets all my textures. I then have to disable all textures and add a completely new material and import all my textures again. This happens every single time I make changes to the mesh. This leads me to->
  3. I am now working with an attached to penumbra transaction to avoid the previous error. In this transaction I encounter a different issue. I make changes to my model (i.e. adjusting weights) and import the changed mesh to TT. All of the sudden it shows the following error:

    I did not change a single thing on the modifiers. I am so annoyed at this point.

I don't know what information you need from me but it's hella annoying. To reiterate. I reinstalled the game, I reinstalled TT at least 6 times, I've tried different ways to work around it and keep having issues.
I tried with blender 4.0 and 4.2, no changes
I tried exporting with MekTools and the classic way of export-fbx-filename, no changes
I really hope you can help me to resolve the issue, I am puzzled at this point.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Live penumbra project

  2. Makeing changes to the model

  3. TT automatically imports changed model
    4.N_root gone, Baldness ingame

  7. Textures are gone

  8. Transaction attached to penumbra

  9. Makeing changes to the model

  10. Importing model to TT

  11. Error message of invalid skin meshes (I did not change a single thing on the amateur modifier)

What aspect of FFXIV TexTools were you using, and what Item were you interacting with?

Component: Live penumbra project, Transaction attached to penumbra
Item: Hair, Gear

Has this has been confirmed as an actual bug?

  • This has been confirmed to be a legitimate issue and not caused by bad game data.

looks like another case of old skeletons, clear the skeleton cache manually or by the button and freshly export the model.

I've deleted the files in the skeleton folder manually (I assumed that's what you meant with clearing cache) and restored cache within TT. I exported the meshes anew and used these for the meshes.
The issues persist, just that issue number 2 seemed to be resolved? I couldn't test ingame as my mesh was invisible again due to the error of invalid skin mesh upon importing however the textures weren't deleted in TT hence I am assuming this works fine now?

I reinstalled Windows and installed all tools anew.. the issues persists. For some reasons the n_root is deleted. I need help
