Currently we have different dialogs/widgets for read-only/non-read-only notes:
ReadOnly:
Non-ReadOnly:
This is a bit confusing if you search in a read-only note, then click the pencil icon to edit the note, then use ctrl-f to find in the note. You'll end up with two find features open at the same time.
At some point we added the "Find and replace" dialog - probably to add the "replace" functionality.
I'm not sure what the best solution is. One option would be to just use the "Find and replace" dialog in all cases and just disable the "Replace" functionality when in read-only mode. This may however have ramifications on web - since the web front-end doesn't use the find widget - it relies on the built-in browser find functionality.
