To reproduce:

  1. Open CKEditor and paste couple of paragraphs of text
  2. Enable Spellchecker plugin
    Results:
    In CKEditor 4.1.1 there is a nice message being displayed.
    Starting from CKEditor 4.1.2 only loading screen is shown. Looking at the change log file, it seems UI update is the source of the problem:

WebSpellChecker plugin user interface was changed to match CKEditor 4 style.

CKEditor 4.1.1
4_1_1

CKEditor 4.7.3
4_7_3

Hi @jswiderski,

Thank you for the detailed information about the issue with error messages in WebSpellChecker Dialog plugin for newer versions of CKEditor. You are right, at the moment the messages are not displayed and hidden under the spinner. We have added this issue to our backlog and plan to investigate how fast and when it can be fixed.

We will keep you informed.

Sincerely,

@jshaptala

Hi,

Our team investigated the options how this issue can be fixed. Unfortunately, there is no simple way how to do it fast. The WebSpellChecker Dialog for CKEditor is quite old product and there has been no active development for past several years except small fixes (issues). At the moment our team is working on the new version of this product (Dialog) where all the issues of the current Dialog will be addressed. Considering our product priorities and time required for fixes, we decided to leave this issue and move it to "known issues".

Sorry for any inconvenience. We want to devote all our efforts to build and provide you with a modern product. As soon as a new version is available, we will be happy to propose you to migrate to it.
