Cluster marker could be differentiate by a small visual detail by "normal" single place markers...

Relations could have a direction arrow (or a gradient) to indicate the from-to-relation.

This could be made with the Leaflet plugin Leaflet.PolylineDecorator, (Leaflet.curve has compatibility with this plugin)
