This ticket is intended to track progress on a proposed major feature: Resolutions

Users need a way to review “warning” or “error” level compliance issues (and other issues) and record the Resolution, for example:

  • approve (ok as is with not change)
  • assert a license choice
  • correct a license incorrectly detected in the scan results
  • identify an unknown license (or choose to ignore it)

Provide the ability to record Resolutions by a group of items, especially by a Directory.

Provide ability to record Resolution Status, for example:

  • Corrected
  • OK because it is Not Deployed
  • Choice asserted
  • Review Pending (further analysis required)

Consider the ability for scancode.io to generate "ToDo" Lists automatically
supported by (SQL) queries based on compliance alerts and resolution status

Plus, we need scancode.io to remember the Resolution taken for a specific ToDo condition,
something like,
"Would you like scancode.io to apply this Resolution automatically in the future?"
and support the building of a library of "resolution robots" that can be viewed and edited.

End goal (vision): Resolve most issues automatically !!!

Deisgn details needed of course.
