ADB fails to install due to missing permissions

Failed to install ADB

Caused by:
    0: i/o error: Permission denied (os error 13)
    1: Permission denied (os error 13)

running ALVR as root doesnt work because it cant start SteamVR and wont try to download or ADB unless SteamVR is running

• I carefully followed the instructions in the README and successfully completed the setup wizard
• I read the ALVR GitHub Wiki

Installation

ALVR Version: 21.0.0_dev01.r2947.b0cdb1ad-2

Install Type:

• Packaged (exe, deb, rpm, etc)
• Portable (zip)
• Source (AUR nightly)
