Following the instructions I have run into an issue. Powershell cannot find Register-IOTThing:

Register-IOTThing : The term 'Register-IOTThing' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or
operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try
again.

I have looked for a file called this on my entire hard drive but cannot find one. Where does this file come from?

I also have the error:

Get-IOTEndpoint : The term 'Get-IOTEndpoint' is not recognized as the name of a cmdlet, function, script file, or
operable program. Check the spelling of the name, or if a path was included, verify that the path is correct and try
again.

Same question. Perhaps these are aws cli commands? IF so how do I get powershell and aws cli tp lay well together?

I have made some progress on this. I also needed AWS PowerTools installed. Needs to be added to the list of prereqs?

More progress...
I am now getting an error on:

        client.Connect(clientId);

The error:
AuthenticationException: The remote certificate is invalid according to the validation procedure.
