qterm is not running

• I ran q doctor in the affected command line session and it didn't resolve my issue
• I ran q restart and it didn't resolve my issue
• I searched the discussions in this repo and there are no duplicates of my issue

Expected behaviour

Using CodeWhispers over SSH should show the command line completions when Amazon Q is installed on both the macOS Host ad the Debian Linux Server

Actual behaviour

The command line completion window doesnt show and q doctor returns the following:

Steps to reproduce

1. Log In to MY server over SSH
2. run q doctor
3. See error message

Hey @Kai-Denzel-Jane, make sure you have the SSH integrations installed on your macOS machine, run q integrations install ssh to install them. Also see the docs for more info: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/amazonq/latest/qdeveloper-ug/command-line-autocomplete-ssh.html

Sorry for the delay.

I have come to find that the defying issue was that my Terminal Application (Tabby) when using the saved SSH Profile for my linux server it must have not been forwarding the qterm over SSH, this is evident because when manually connecting to the server via a command instead of the profile it works correctly.

Sorry for the oversight on my part, I will close this issue shortly, if you could explain to me what needs to be sent over the SSH Connection in order for qterm to run.

You need to have the following in your remote Linux /etc/ssh/sshd_config :

AcceptEnv Q_SET_PARENT
AllowStreamLocalForwarding yes

So essentially accept the Q_SET_PARENT env var and enable forwarding Unix domain sockets.

Added the entries to the /etc/ssh/sshd_config. Still stuck with the same issue.

Yeah I think it's because these apps that let you save SSH profiles they just execute the raw ssh command rather than execute in the environment in macOS where qterm is running.
