The relation of thrust and rpm could have the following features:
outer limits: maximum rpm, being enforced somewhere in the system.
Inner limits, aka dead zones.
A quadratic relationship rather then the now used 5th order fit. Both are quite similar and the 5th order is a tad simpler to use because it is asymetrical already, but that can be fixed for the more theoretically correct 2nd order one easily.
