Malt doesn't have support for Cryptomatte. But IMO the best way would be to output a mask from your Main Pass and apply the effect directly in your Render Layer node tree. That way you get perfect antialiasing, better transparency support, and the setup should be much simpler. See #347 for an example of doing something similar. It uses the old deprecated nodes, but the idea is the same. |

Hi,
I've been starting using MALT recently for some animation projects, and I'd like to use the cryptomattes for compositing because I don't think doing multiple scenes would work as I want. I have characters on which I want the regular cel shading, but I'd like to get a watercolor effet on the background through compositing, and to keep the character interactions and the correct shadows on the same scene (so no shadow catcher), but then I'm stuck when it comes to using the cryptomattes. I can't enable or disable view layers in the properties tab, and the cryptomatte node in the compositor doesn't seem to work. How can I make everything work?
