clean up pools references scattered throughout code

need to add pool_category table(s) to cbm_defaults database (likely in csv form) so that pools can be queried by category (all, biomass, dead organic matter, softwood, hardwood etc)

this could be helpful to clean up and make more maintainable code in a few places where pool names are coded in to python scripts.
