Reasons:

Twitpic might be gone one day. http://blog.twitpic.com/2014/10/twitpics-future/
Tweets with twitpics, don't have image previews

Steps:

Backup pics from Twitpic
Upload to another storage space, like S3. E.g.: http://cheeaun.tweets.s3-ap-southeast-1.amazonaws.com/externals/twitpic/1afh6z.png
Modify frontend to parse twitpic links and show twitpic images inline
