Looking for new maintainer #169
Comments
I'm still looking for new maintainer. |
I might be interested, along with a collaborator of mine (rtobar). I use the imager package a lot for some of my astronomy related packages and know the R side well, and he’s a real C/C++ guru. What would be involved? Would you hand over this actual repo (otherwise I think we lost the issues)? The version on CRAN seems to be different (ahead) of the GitHub repo? |
I have fixed imager when CRAN told me to do it I don't have a right to hand over this repo. The version of imager on this repo is different from the version of imager on CRAN |
Thanks @ShotaOchi for the further details. Assuming we take ownership: in terms of repos, I think the best would be that we manage our own fork (probably under @asgr's account) and make releases from there. We'd change the |
That's a good idea! |
I'm happy to make any modifications necessary so new maintainers can take over. Thanks a lot for volunteering! |
We just edited the README so it now directs people to our new repo for future issues and maintenance. |
@ShotaOchi I think the only thing left to do is for you to contact CRAN and let them know I will be the new maintainer ([email protected]). |
Thank you so much! |
Merged! Thank you very much Shota for your help, and congratulations to the new maintainers! |
@dahtah thanks for that! Could you also archive this repo? (https://github.com/dahtah/imager/settings -> General -> "Danger Zone" -> "Archive this repository"). That will make it read-only, which makes it even more obvious to people arriving that there won't be any more activity happening here. |
I'm looking for new maintainer of imager.
It's better if a motivated person is a maintainer of imager.
