Another user has reported the same issue at https://gbatemp.net/threads/vhbb-crashes-on-downloading-apps.548949/ . |
Also seeing this issue |
For me it was filing in the same way, then I followed the steps here http://wololo.net/2018/11/04/itls-enso-v2-0-released-with-a-safer-plugin-option-safely-make-the-browser-on-your-hacked-psvita-pstv-running-fw-3-60-5-great-again-with-tlsv1-2-support-and-access-sites-like-github-and-many-other/ my config.txt

@ramarivera VHBB is using libCURL/cURLpp, so it doesn't depend on the sce functions and doesn't need I do have the itls plug-in installed and enabled, also have the iTLS-Enso app, installed the certs. Browser has no problem opening HTTPS sites and I can download |
@CrazyCoder Then I must have done/fixed something while installing |
@ramarivera Unfortunately, it didn't change anything on my VITAs. Still crashes. |
I'm also experiencing this issue, I first noticed it after updating. I've deleted vhbb's folder on ux0:data, and I've also uninstalled and reinstalled and after reading through this thread I've made sure I had the tls pach, then removed it and re-applied it again to make sure I had the latest files. I'm still crashing when I download anything through vhbb. I've got the browser plugin and I'm able to browse github and download files so I feel certain I've got tls working fine. |
I'm having the same issue on 3.70 with Trinity. The VHBB crashes every time when I press the download button. Older versions do the same. I attached my logs. |
I can confirm this bug and nothing in the logging is suspicious. I'll need to investigate this issue later on, I'm busy right now. If anyone wants to use vita-parse-core in order to analyze the coredump, be my guest. You'll need to compile VHBB in debug mode first and make it crash again or the output won't be useful. Edit: here is the analysis vita-parse-core analysis

Having the same issues. I was able to get one item downloaded and installed and now its just failing no matter what I try. |
Same thing now happens to me. Can confirm that this happens with FW 3.60/3.65 (with or without Enso) as well as FW 3.68. |
I saw a lot of people disappointed with this homebrew, there is no solution this error and the developer does not help us, so I really already left my position on this, and the same opinion of many people in gbatemp, forget this homebrew, is not good! Download from the browser and don't break your head with crap! |
I'm not paid a single dollar to work on VHBB and I'm really busy right now. This sort of self entitled behavior is what drives open-source developers out. Besides, davee will take a look. |
Why are you being a prick. These are people's passion project not their jobs. |
So do so and leave people who are willing to share their free time alone. The rest of us are grateful for all those useful tools. |
SOLUTION? |
Just need to wait. The dev already replied someone is getting to it later. Also no need for caps. |
I'm also having the exact same issue on Enso 3.65. Patiently waiting for a solution. |
Having similar issue when attempting to download from VHBB. |
I really think the problem is in Enso version 3.65. All problems reported are mostly in this release, I am also waiting for a solution! Thanks |
No I'm on 3.60 and I also have the issue. |
Having the same issue on 3.60 |
having the same issue on 3.65 |
same issue, 3.60, freshly installed |
Maybe off-topic, but I realised that vitaRTCW and vitaQuake3 also threw the same error. Im starting to think this is about storage access. |
SOLUTION? |

Sorry about that. I’m pretty new at this so wasn’t sure what service to use to share the vpk. Glad it’s working for everyone and I may try clean it up some more. |
Thank you for this @pauleck ! It does look to be working with this version, and even seems to be quicker and more responsive than previous versions. Aside from removing the images and/or associates to images, what else did you change? Mainly just curious.
Thanks! |
@heavymetalpirates yes removed images and also the code would update the progress bar whilst downloading the vpk. That crashed so my code doesn’t do that anymore. I’m new to the vita hacking scene so learning as I go. |
@pauleck I think this is probably the most stable version of VHBB I've personally worked with thus far, so you've done a fantastic job. I will gladly sacrifice appearance for functionality. I've been meaning to study up on making some homebrew with Vita/3DS/Switch, but I have way too many ongoing projects at the moment to be adding more lol. Perhaps after finishing the development of my game... @devnoname120 On another note, the downloads for EasyRPG Player and ScummVM still seem broken in VHBB. I believe it may just be a case of needing to update the links for these titles. ScummVM gets a 403 Forbidden error in both VHBB and in the VitaDB. EasyRPG is still downloading normally directly from VitaDB, but stalls in VHBB and freezes the app. It's definitely not a big deal to download and install software manually, but I wasn't sure whether you were aware of an issue with these two titles so I thought I'd mention it. |
My apologies in advance. I am a super noob to all this. I just obtained a modded Vita and I need help removing the old non-working version of the VHBB and install the newly fixed version, using the link provided in this thread. Any suggestions? |
This is for the Vita.... |
php files are parts of a website, if you downloaded it trying to get the browser, you did it wrong |
Thanks for the fix ^.^ |
Many thanks for this, works wonderfully! |
I'm not sure if it's a direct result of the crash, but it appears as though it kicks the Wi-Fi network when it happens. I wonder if that has something to do with the crash itself. I'm using 3.60 Enso myself. On a side note, the storage location doesn't seem to matter (as mentioned in a comment above). I tried with the SD2Vita and the internal storage on the 2000, and it crashes all the same. I did not try with my 8 GB Vita Card, mostly because it is just used for recovery purposes. Also, thank you for the other version. I saw this program on a YouTube video and was really wanting to try it out. |
@pauleck can you place share modified sources ? |
Thank you! Worked fine for me |
I'm unable to download the VPK even after clicking several times on the download button. Could someone please provide a different download link? Thanks! EDIT: Nevermind, saw the new link! |
Thanks so much for posting this new version of homebrew browser. First time hacked my vita this weekend. I am a noob and the vhbb was not working until I replaced it with this. 10/10. This mirror/2nd link for the download worked |
It seems to work now however the icons are all missing. I know it's still a work in progress but I appreciate everything everyone's doing to make everything work. Thanks a bunch! |
Oh yeah thanks you very much guy it's work perfectly and I've another problem with vitadb I've an error when I try to launch the site error ssl with itls Enzo 3.1 installed... It's worked before.... |
Unfortunately not working for me. The download dialogue appears and then the browser (pauleck's) just freezes :/ - I'm pretty handy with manual installs so no biggie; just reporting in case it helps. |
Thanks to @devnoname120 for the original vpk and thanks to @pauleck for the updated version that allows downloading again. |
Thanks for all the effort @devnoname120 and @pauleck. <3 Much much appreciated! |
Hi great work was pulling my hair out at the error thought it was just my setup looks like a few have the same issue. Any chance of working icons and pics for the newer release that works? |
Thanks @devnoname120 and @pauleck , now it's working. the photos don't appear but it looks great. |
@devnoname120 Any plans on fixing this in an official release? |
I've implemented a solution that involves dynamically loading and unloading |
@robsdedude You're awesome, thanks a lot man! |

I know I'm going to get flagged as disruptive content as well, but I just need to point this out to the individual above me:
So somehow, we're supposed to believe that:
...isn't an accusation towards the developer himself? Even though he himself admits that he is unable to sort the problem out, and has offered others to help? Also,
The beautiful thing about open-source, is that you're free to submit suggestions and fixes for problems you're having. And judging by the sheer length of your post, you clearly have more than enough time on your hands to at least help make something that a lot of people like, work again. If you're going to put the effort to pushing insults in the original dev's face, then at least back it up with effort from your part. Otherwise, armchair administrating a community project doesn't make you look very good. All of this, after a PR is made to help make this problem go away. Brilliant timing. |
At this point the app crashes. It used to work fine before, but now crashes on both psv1000 and psv2000 without any changes on the devices (no new plug-ins or updates).

:Uninstalling vhbb and cleaning all its folders,, then reinstalling didn't help. Other homebrews still work without issues.
