Support for other currency symbols/generic decimal rule #382

Currently the currecy rule only allows for a dollar sign and will invalidate fields with other currency symbol. This means that a filed using the currency rule will allow $1.99 and 1.99 but fail £1.99 or €1.99. Would it be possible to support other currencies or include a generic decimal rule to get around this? Thanks :)
