I see that in the file, they are shown to be working with matias top housings, but I am not sure if they are compatible with traditional alps skcm switches.

Assuming you are talking about the ALPS to MX keycap sliders?
I never got my hands on original SKCM housings, so I'm not sure. From what visual comparisons I've seen, they seem similar. I think I at one point got the SKCM sliders, and they appeared pretty similar, so I think the internal rails that guide the slider would work, but you'd probaly run into a similar issue that the hole at the top is not quite wide enough for most MX stems.
Since ALPS stems sit entirely within the slider, and MX surround the slider, this is a bit of a problem. I was able to fix it in my tests by hand reaming with a .201" drill, or just scraping a little bit of plastic out from the edges to increase the clearance.
