Thinking of getting a wide(r) angle lens with larger aperture for shooting indoors and in low-light.
My reasoning for getting a better quality lens is to minimise noise and maximise low-light quality.

Canon EF 24mm f/1.4L II USM Lens

While searching for the lens I discovered that MKBHD had done a review of it way back in the day!

The "normal" price of this lens is $1,549 (USD) from B&H in NYC:

In Portugal this lens costs €1,464 ("Black Friday" deal):

Found it on ebay for £945 ("Ex display, in great condition comes with caps"):

I'm very tempted to "buy-it-now" on this because it's a good deal!

I always find it bonkers that lenses costs more than many decent cameras, but there is no getting around this, all "serious" photographers/videographers invest in their "glass".

Relevant Background Reading

Canon EF-S lenses are designed solely for use on Canon APS-C DSLRs. Canon EF lenses are designed to work with full frame and APS-C DSLRs from Canon. i.e. EF-S will only work on 80D, 7D etc. but an EF lens will work on any Canon DSLR. So the smart choice of lens is an EF.

I don't know if you found the wide angle lens we own when you went searching for it but it may well be in a different box to the camera bag because the wide-angle had its own carrying case.

I have asked 'the man who knows' if he remembers the spec off-hand.

@iteles the lens you are referring to is actually a Fisheye converter. I looked for it, but didn't find it.

Looking forward to trying it out with @iteles 7D and the Sony A7 with lens adapter. 😉
