Support organization and repository logos / avatars #55
Comments
In GitLab by @netomi on Jun 19, 2023, 17:28 Setting the logo for an organization or repository is not yet supported. and setting the profile picture for an organization (for which I did not find a documentation entry). projects.eclipse.org has a logo defined for each project, this should probably used as profile picture for the org. For repos, we currently do not have plan to support that via otterdog, as it would be quite some hassle as it can only be changed via the web ui, but lets keep this ticket open, maybe we find some better way. |

that would be good.
Using the same image as org/project by default would be a good default value; after that, it's indeed all doable via Web UI so no need to worry further. |
In GitLab by @netomi on Jun 20, 2023, 21:13 The internal document to indicate the steps to perform when creating a new GitHub organization for an Eclipse project has been updated to make sure that the existing logo as available via projects.eclipse.org is set as an avatar for the organization. |
In GitLab by @netomi on Jun 20, 2023, 21:14 However it would still be useful to have such capabilities by otterdog. |
In GitLab by @netomi on Sep 29, 2023, 16:55 Currently there is no plan to support that, closing for now. |

It would be highly useful to support setting an organization logo and avatars for individual repos using otterdog. Unfortunately there is no api support atm, so it could only be done using the web ui.
